One week after the UD Trucks Leadership Summit, the same site in Ageo became the stage for something genuinely unprecedented: the first public demonstration of a Level 4 autonomous heavy-duty truck in Japan. The Fujin L4 — capable of operating without a driver under defined conditions — represented a landmark moment not just for UD Trucks, but for the Japanese logistics and commercial vehicle industry.
The challenge was to build a media event worthy of that milestone. With 45 journalists from Japan's most influential business, technology, and general news outlets expected on site, the event needed to deliver on multiple levels: a compelling live demonstration, a clear and credible narrative, executive access, and the kind of structured media experience that converts attendance into substantive coverage.
Prime-time broadcast coverage was a stated ambition. That meant securing dedicated slots for TV crews, briefing executives for on-camera interviews, and ensuring every journalist left with the story fully formed.
